About the Job:
The Odoo Technical Consultant is responsible for designing, developing, and customizing Odoo ERP modules based on business requirements. This role requires strong hands-on experience in Odoo framework, Python programming, database management, custom module development, integrations, and technical troubleshooting.
Technical profile/ Your duties:
- Deliver the assigned tasks within due time frame and minimum percentage of defects/bugs, ensuring the needed quality of delivery is attained.
- Ensure being up to date with the latest needed technologies aiding the Client’s projects needs and delivery.
- Document all tasks being implemented for easy reference to the development team and Clients.
- Effectively Communicates with the Team/Client, for an easy flow of information and connection with the team.
- Manage time to utilize 25% - 30% for research and learning and 70% - 75% for technical development.
- Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
- Follow the NDA & Security Data Protection Guidelines ensuring data is confidential and not disclosed to any third parties
Job Description:
- Develop and customize Odoo modules using Python, XML, JS, and Odoo framework tools.
- Design and maintain new features, workflows, and reports as per business needs.
- Integrate Odoo with third-party applications (REST API / Web Services).
- Develop and enhance Odoo website / eCommerce modules when required.
- Perform data migration, import/export through CSV, Excel, or scripts.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and maintain code quality & system performance.
- Collaborate with functional consultants to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Create technical documentation including architecture, customization details, and testing guidelines.
- Participate in UAT and deployment activities across development, testing, and production environments.
- Maintain version control repositories and follow code review standards
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field.
- Minimum 1–3 years of development experience with Odoo (Community or Enterprise).
- Strong proficiency in Python and Object-Oriented Programming.
- Knowledge of Odoo ORM, API, QWeb Reports, and Odoo Views.
- Experience with PostgreSQL database and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with JavaScript, XML, HTML, and CSS.
- Understanding of Linux environments and server management basics.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver on deadlines.
Preferred / Additional Qualifications: - Experience in Odoo.sh and on-premise Odoo deployments.
- Knowledge of Docker, Git, CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Payment Gateway and External System Integrations.
- Contributions to Odoo Community or open-source projects.
- Odoo Developer Certification is a plus.
